Promotion of Hungarian research on Africa through joint research programmes

In the framework of the agreement signed in 2018, the University of Pécs and the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta support each other and the promotion of Hungarian research on Africa through joint research programmes, conferences, and the coordination and mutual sharing of theory and practice. In the interview below, Prof. István Tarrósy, Director of the Africa Research Centre, and Dániel Solymári, Head of International Relations of the HCSOM, talk about their experiences so far, the expansion of their fieldwork in Africa, scientific research methods, practical experiences and new scientific achievements resulting from their mutual reflections. One of the most recent papers to emerge from the collaboration examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the livelihoods of disadvantaged people living in slums in Kenya, which can be found and read at the link below.
